Dana is an Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), certified Thai Yoga Massage Therapist and Reiki Master. She has practiced yoga for more than 6 years and is a member of the International Association of Black Yoga Teachers (IABYT) and the Mid Atlantic Yoga Association (MAYA). To keep classes creative and fun, she continues to attend workshops and has completed teacher trainings with Shiva Rea and Doug Swenson. Dana is also a certified Radiant Child Yoga instructor and has studied with Shakta Kaur Khalsa.

Dana created Spiritual Essence Yoga in 2003. Excited about the wonderful benefits she experienced through her regular yoga practice, she wanted a way to share her knowledge with others in a safe, non-competitive, and friendly environment. Initially skeptical about yoga herself, Dana knew the common misconceptions and myths surrounding yoga. Her practice began as a physical workout and stress relief from her hectic job as an executive assistant. As she began studying various yoga texts and learned what yoga was (and what it wasn't), her practice became equally physical and spiritual. In addition to yoga, Dana holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance.

Felicia's exploration of Reiki began several years ago. She is a certified Usui Reiki Level 2 practitioner and is currently studying to become a Certified Practitioner of Interior Alignment. Interior Alignment, developed by Denise Linn, is an all encompassing spiritual, physical, and mental professional practice that combines elements of Feng Shui and many native based cultures to create balance between a client's needs and the environment in which they live and work. Felicia's interests focus on balancing and creating positive, healing energies in people's bodies, minds and environments.

Shmi’mi started taking belly dancing in high school in 1992 and has practiced privately since then often teaching friends for fun. She noticed the trend and increasing popularity a couple of years ago and decided to teach it. Her main concentration has been private instruction because she often comes in contact with women who are anxious to learn it but who feel more comfortable in a private setting until they become more confident in their skills. She is member of BOCA (The Belly Dancers of Color Association) and can be found on their website. She continues to attend workshops to hone her craft was well. She practices hip hop, Caribbean, bhangra and more traditional Bellydance infused with her own personal style.

Queen Cobra began her belly dance journey over 4 years ago under the tutelage of veteran and well-respected dancer Salama. Since then, she has continued training and taking workshops with some of the dance greats all over the world. Queen Cobra’s main dance style is traditional Egyptian, though she loves to add a splash of Tribal every now and again. She enjoys teaching beginner and intermediate students of all ages.
